Artifacts with Shadows on surfaces.

I get a shadow artifact as seen in the attached image. Does anyone know why this is? The model is big. If I go further away it disapears. The same if I move close to a surface. If I change the day of time the artifact changes looks. Im using Sketchup with version 2.4.1.2

Hi @davidT_1 , what you’re experiencing is called self-shadowing (or “shadow-acne”). This effect was significantly reduced in our 2.4.2 release; would you please be so kind as to update to our latest release? Check out how to update to the latest version here in our FAQ.
