I guess that those xeons won’t come in retail box with active cooling?
i would not go with asus in the 1st place

you should be ok, but you might not have much clearance between the case and the top of the cooler/fan.
Do you have the stock xeon fans/heatsinks?
no I don’t. And I never had xeon based rig so I don’t know if they come in retail boxes with heatsinks like standard intel cpus. Right now in this case I have one 120Ultra on Q6600. About the mobo… Is Supermicro X7DWE ATX better than asus?

Or maybe TYAN but as I can see only Tempest i5400XT (S5396) supports windows and quad and I think it doesn’t look like standard ATX.

Noctua NH-U12P SE1366
For what its worth I only just got a Noctua heatsink to fit in my new standard cased PC, so measure 3 times cut once…very quiet and good cooling though.
