Autodesk Material Converter 2.2 available

I worked a while on a script for Autodesk 3dsMax 2011 and up.
It converts Autodesk Materials to either Arch&Design or VrayMtl.
It will also convert all Autodesk Maps to the regular maps.
It can also convert Arch&Design materials to Standard materials to support VR engines
It also fixes some bugs in the Autodesk materials while converting (i.e. Autodesk Metal opacity doesn’t work correctly..but the original settings will be used correctly after conversion)

Anyone interested can take a look at the special webpage (in english): http://3dstudio.nl/producten/maxscripts.html

best regards!

Very nice, thanks for posting! Is there a demo available?

Best regards,
Vlado

Currently, there is no demo available, the script is using a license file and is locked to a system, due to this system, there is no demo version available.
Results can be seen on our script webpage though. Also, perhaps nice to know, it’s quite fast…converting a scene holding over 5000 objects and over 2500 materials takes less than 20s…

tomorrow there will already be a version update, as conversion from Vray to Standard will be added.

At 49 Euros this seems a little expensive. It would be nice if Vray had a button to do this:) Revit is outputing alot of Autodesk Materials
and I have pressure on me to use iray (which is nice, but gpu demanding).

Vray can render Arch&Design but it’s frustrating (and time consuming) to have to convert all the Autodesk Materials.
Yes, I know I could buy the above plugin;) and I thank RayofLight for giving me the option!

i have sent several email but no reply so far :frowning: i am in a hurry…

We just bought the AMC ver. 3.1, works like a charm! Huge time saver!

Have to agree - AMC is amazing! We deal with Revit & the pesky Autodesk materials that it brings along.

Actually a great companion script is “Instance Materials by Name and Class” - Instance Materials and Maps by Name and Class | Kstudio Scripts Pack: News & Announcements | Kstudio - 3Ds Max Plugins … Unfortunately a side effect of converting with AMC is material instancing breaks, but no worries because the script above will instance everything back. A few minutes of work and all those Autodesk materials go away…
