In this current scene we’re rendering 20000x15000 images and autosaving them out to EXR every 30 mins/60 mins is hugely time-consuming compared to if it were saving to a TIFF each time, and it’s actually causing the machines to hang for ages each time, and a simple 8-bit TIFF is all we really need for this job. I’m aware that EXR is currently used because of some kind of internal tone-mapping reasons, but is this possible at all?
