Backburner replacing PCs instead of adding!

Hello all,
I have ran a fair amount of PCs on my render farm before no problem.
However, I now have the strangest thing happening. If I add a Dell laptop with 2GB RAM it sees it and performs well. If I then add another Dell with 2GB it replaces the other one in backburner! Everything includign computer name and IP addresses change but “handle” stays the same.

If I then add my own Desktop PC as a server, it replaces the last laptop! It is only happening with my PC and the 2 Dell laptops…

Anyone..?!?

same backburner version on all nodes ?

delete on manager
..backburner\network\servers\*.xml

delete on server
.. backburner\network\*.xml
and just start server.exe
let all setting as they are

tell me if it helps

Unfortunately not…

I’m off to London to render all the LC and IR maps at 6am tomorrow. Any help posted would be ridiculously appreciated!!!
Thanks

This is a complete shot into the dark but you can try changing the “servername” on the slaves to the IP instead of the name, we had UDP conflicts quite a lot. That doesnt affect the hostname displayed in the monitor, but it did solve some problems here.

Thorsten

Thanks Instinct,
but that’s what I had in the 1st place. Bummer - off to London with a major problem.
Will pick up any suggestions when there,
Thanks

all,
thankfully I’ve set up a render farm in London without the same problem.
I’ll try a reinstall of everything on all PCs laptops when I return to Glasgow.
cheers
