Hi guys,
This has actually not much to do with VRay-specific features, but I just wanted to post this in order to show that VRay perfectly renders the Max Ink 'n Paint material. I did use VRay shadows (no area shadows) and a VRay matte to catch shadows on the ground plane.
Balkenende is the Dutch prime minister, who is about to take the pill out of the sick-fund. Leon must know him. The building is our house of parliament, called the “Binnenhof” in The Hague.

Hey Thomas! Nice to see you around here! Nice to see a lot of good old fR heroes back lately. Had some e-mail correspondence lately with Schloerby, Toby and Jan as well.
About the large babies, yeah well, in a cartoon nightmare you can afford a lot of flexibility when it comes to proportions etc.. 
If I had done the babies in the right proportions, the house of parliament would have become too prominent.

so is vray faster than max when rendering ink and paint ?
As far as I can remember Ink 'n Paint needed Max supersampling to remove aliasing and became very slow because of that. That is not the case with VRay.

Hey Flipside, my wife and I will be visiting your hometown this weekend. Als je nog leuke tips hebt, dan houden we ons aanbevolen!
We really like Antwerp and have had a great time last year. Went to three movies in a theatre nearby our hotel (Ice Age, Amelie, Spiderman), visited the cathedral and the museum of fine arts, the harbour and of course ate a real Belgian waffle!
This time we’re planning to eat at a famous spaghetti restaurant (can’t remember the name right now), visit a real huge THX-approved theatre and maybe the Zoo. What about the Begijnenhof? My brother told me that’s a nice place to check out.

Hi Metin!
I you mean metropolis (large thx cinema), make sure you leave early enough if you want to see a movie in the evening, the place is overcrowded fri-sat-sunday night…
The famous spaghetti restaurant, is it ‘de pasta’? I’ve been there, and it’s good, but maybe best to reserve a place before you go… Also there are different menu’s on the different levels of the building!
If you want cheap but good pizza, go to ‘da giovanni’, near de groenplaats. It’s a real happening to eat there, it’s so busy and the waiters are so stressy, really funny. They also bought a few nearby buildings to expand their restaurant, it looks like an italian mob who’s trying to rule the pizza business in antwerp!
The begijnenhof is nice, close to the university of antwerp, UFSIA, which has also nice old buildings with cosy inner gardens where you can walk through.
If you want to shop, go to de meir (car free shopping street), but also walk on it in the direction of the groenplaats, and when you reach the the big tower at the end of the meir (boerentoren), go left and there are some small streets with all kinds of tiny shops. There’s a chocolatier who makes really incredible things with chocolate, and also ‘desirée de lille’, the most famous dessert restaurant in antwerp (famous for their lackmans or galetten).
Don’t know if it’s still possible, but you used to be able to get on top of de boerentoren, where you have a good view across antwerp.
For the rest, if you travel by car, prepare for some chaos in the centre because they’re breaking up the biggest street in the centre of antwerp…

My mother’s family (her father, and her mother’s parents) are all from Beemster. Some corp just took over the municipal website, but the website used to show several pictures of a historical farmhouse (the whole polder is a World Heritage Site) that my grandfather grew up in.
I have to visit someday…

Some places in the Netherlands are beautiful, but there’s a whole lot of extensive green fields, which can make the landscape a bit boring in some places.
The people are quite relaxed here, but the overall mentality is changing a bit to the negative side as the economy goes down.

Cool Metin_7 I figured you’d know who he was, though I’m not saying you don’t have your own style . Have you seen the matrix storyboards? he did most of then, it was cool to see his storyboard style, you could tell it was Him but it just wasn’t as bold and stylistic as his comic artwork.

Haven’t seen those Matrix storyboards. To be honest I didn’t even know he did them. I know Frank Miller from the golden days of graphic novels in the early 90s (Dark City and a very cool Batman story).

yeah dark city was great. I’ll send you a coupple of pics. a friend of mine went upto sydney and got it from this store that sells origonal storyboards (photocopied) but they sold their origonal copy of the second volume!!
