You should install it through the plug-in manager in Rhino (Tools > Plug In Manager …)
Now you can simply type BatchRender in the command line and you’ll be presented with a simple Dialog Box allowing you to add files and pick views (which can be saved if you right click the viewport name and click ‘named views …’). The settings are very straightforward.
*** Important Note ***
So far I have had two large batches completely screwed up because I did not verify that the ‘Batch Render’ Dialog was selected in the vRay > options > Global Settings dialog. I often uncheck this option so that I can work on my scene while it’s rendering, btu it causes nothing but trouble during the batch render process.
It would be very helpful if future versions of this application ensured that this option was enable automatically (or simply overrode existing file settings).
*** Bugs ***
The View Selection dialog box often lists the selected view twice
(once at the top of the list, and again at the bottom of the list). This is scary, but I select another view, then the one I want.
If the Batch Render option is not enabled, the render process will continue to open all files in the list, while still rendering the one that lacked the batch render option. It will then save out the render with an incorrect file name (the last one on the list usually), and the Batch Rendre window will report that all of the renders were completed successfully. This is a lie Wink

I changed the name of the thread form Batch Render for Rhino 3 - just to Batch Render for Rhino
Hmm, sorry if this is a stupid question, but Ive read the first post about 100 times, and I checked that all my files have “batch render” enabled about a million times. And it still only renders 2 views out of 12.. I have 4 files to render with 3 views each.. does anyone have any suggestions, because I need the sleep
I’ve read in past ASGVIS posts that you need to make the saved views active in the viewports. But, aside from adding extra viewports, this limits me to batching only 4 renderings. Is there a fix to this problem? A de-bugged version of the software? Any updates if this is being worked on by ASGVIS?
I’ve also heard rumors of users altering the software’s code to fix the problem. Anyone seen a version that did this and worked?
just tried the tool yesterday. I currently used rhino 4.0 and checked the batch render switch…but I arived today to get a surprise…just the last render is saved. I saved and restarted the file to try again… does this tool work for rhino 4 as well?
Ok, I solved the issues and now I can render a lot of imagens in one single file… but does this work across multiple files?; What I mean is, can I render views form other files with the same batch?
Yes, although the batch render is getting a little face lift. So although the old one should work for you, there should be a revision floating around in the coming weeks.
which part is great
why nobody tell me how to use this plugin
I mean there is a batch render check box in the vray options dialog is this it or anything else
Just wondering if this is too old to use…when i try to load the batch render plug-in into rhino 4.0 (no updated service releases - i should get around to doing that) it says that rhino can not load the plug in because of an unspecified service release. Any ideas, or perhaps this batch render plug-in has been updated…any idea where i might find it if so?
I’m using the batch render right now, and its working fine here.
Be sure that you have the views to render opened in you’re screen as viewports!
Otherwise it can’t find the “named views” you made.
Make the right render settings in the vray options before you click start…
And save the file, because batchrender opens the file for you. ;D
And to start the batchrender, just type batchrender in the command bar.
add you’re files, and select the views (the ones open as viewports).
The renders are written in the same directory as the model.
