Hello
I have this material from the Corona library. Mapped it to a ball. Looks great. Popped it onto a wall and it looks rubbish! Any ideas of what’s going wrong here?
here you go.

Well it would seem something is off about the scene. The wall is 8m wide. There seems to be some kind of discrepancy there. Do you know where this will occur? When I bring in the person from the cosmos browser he comes in at the right scale. However, I’ve just opened an illustrator line logo and the depth of it says 20mm on the dialogue box its’ much much deeper.
Weird thing is, that man comes in at the right scale, so what I did was change the scale of the bricks to the correct size (200mm x 100mm per brick) and this happens.
Any idea how I can tie all this up? Thanks in advance
Attachment is the size dialogue box of the wall.
It looks like you have very aggressive texture filtering in your scene. I can’t tell you where to look for this setting, since i’m 3ds Max user, but maybe it will be clue for someone who knows better.
Hi there,
Are you using the Interactive Rendering (IR)?
(menu Corona → Interactive Rendering)
Yes I’ve been using that and I’d understand if it was some kind of ‘preview’ level but it doesn’t render in the ‘final’ renders any better!
If this solution is no good, can you check to see if ‘‘out of core textures’’ is enabled in the performance settings and disable it?

Hi. I still have this problem. On the previous job I just swapped the bricks out for a standard mapping of some bricks.
However, I’m on another job now and it’s happening again with a different material.
See attachments.
My project is scaled to 1cm as you’ve stated before. However, when I go a little bit away from the texture it loses all detail. You can even see it in the first attachment. As it goes further away from the camera, the detail just smoothes out.
I don’t think this is a project scale thing. The measurements are very specific on this one and I’ve even had imported ‘official’ models within this project which confirms everything is okay scale-wise on it.

Hi, can you please send us this new scene so we can check it?
Hi there,
Another question…
Are you using any 3rd party plugin/script to automate your basic scene setup? (e.g., automate lights, render settings, or anything else)
Kind regards.
Hello
I can confirm that almost every object from the Chaos Browser, using a Bitmap set to 0% Blur Scale basically renders blurry. You might not notice it, but textures start to blur out when you move them approximately 50 to 100 m from the camera. This should not be the case. As long as I am using no DOF everything should stay perfectly sharp. My scene is set to cm and works perfectly in terms of camera and imported objects.
I attached two examples showing the issue. It is the same figure. The distance to the camera of the person in the foreground is about 5m. The second person in the background is in 120m in distance and just scaled 10 times to appear larger. Both should definitely display perfectly sharp. Only when setting the Blur value to -100% it appears correct. You can see in the second image.
I better not check all images and far objects I rendered in the past 1-2 years …
Why is it even set like this as default ? It really is a quality issue.

i think this is an important step to fix this bug as soon as possible, i have seen some threads with this and i think this bug should be given special attention, you don’t want to check your scenes for correctness all the time.
What specifically are you referring to?
