I’m currently searching for a computer. I’d like to buy the threadriper 3990X.
On the website, it’s written AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X 64-Core Processor (×2). But I want to know what the “x2” means.
Is it possible to have 2 processors in one mothercard ? I haven’t found a computer that does that.
Plus, I haven’t found any Benchmark with only one processor, does that exist?
There are no dual CPU motherboards for Threadrippers. For that you would need the Epyc series CPUs.
The results are from a single 3990X CPU. It’s 64 cores with hyper-threading (AMD calls it Simulataneous Multi-Threading - SMT), so the benchmark detects it as 2 x 64. The detection isn’t perfect.
You can also check the benchmarks on other websites, e.g. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/
