I’m new to Vray but like what I’ve seen so far. I like that I was able to get nice results right off the bat. Now I’m having some trouble getting a scene to dim down. It’s an indoor expo hall with lots of overhead skylights. At first, with the default multipliers for the primary and secondary GI light set to 1, it was way too bright. I kept notching it down, to even less than .1, and it’s still coming up too bright. Am I wrong in assuming that the two GI multiplier parameters are the primary controls for GI brightness?
And is there a setting to indicate indoor vs. outdoor? I thought I heard that mentioned in the one training video I watched.
I’ll have to watch more of those great training videos real soon. Just thought I’d post here as well.

My question was typical newbie, too general. I’ve been working with the ASGVIS tutorials today and I’m seeing some of the options. These controls are much more usable than what I used to use in Autodesk Viz and further back, Lightscape. Still I’ve been having trouble getting my rectangular lights and omni lights to even appear. I should probably practice in a small room instead of my entire expo hall.
What is it that could prevent my rectangular and omni lights from appearing or affecting? Also, how can I show light coming down off a wall sconce, with a nice conic shaped light pattern? I don’t see that anywhere.
