Hi guys, what are the best ways to add reflection in windows? I tried putting up a plane with reflection material attached (simple background reflection image in diffuse and self illumination slots), turned off seen by camera, seen by GI and cast shadows in Corona Compositing tag that I applied to plane and that plane still casts some shadows.
Maybe there is a better suggestion that you could share?
Maybe you can share what you have already? Are you wanting, exterior or interior reflections? Generally, I’d keep the inside darker if viewing exterior reflections and the opposite for interior reflections. Glass used was just a standard Corona glass with ‘‘thin shell’’ enabled. Or, are you trying to fake it? I’m sure others will have their workflows to share also. I hope that helps.
I believe that’s an artifact, not shadow of any sort. I run into this many times when using similar fake.
When you separate reflection and light in Corona it often wreaks havoc in some situations, particularly on such glossy material like that ocean pier has.
Here are my two solutions:
Use Reflection override in Glass material (not global reflection override, just the Glass). You can CoronaMix the Environment + Your Plane in some creative way and plug that it.
If it’s not animation, nothing bests post-production on masked windows..
