My enscape quality is really poor and blurry, see picture. Why is it like this? Is it my settings?
Hi @maryoloughlin and welcome to our Forum.
In the first instance can you let me know which graphics card you are using in combination with Enscape? If possible, you may want to turn the Rendering Quality itself to Ultra (from High) if the current setup allows so without too many performance penalties.
On top of that you can check whether or not Restmode is enabled via the General Settings → Rendering tab as activating this function can also help with additional clarity.
I would advice to ideally forward a support report including your machine information (included automatically) as a whole as detailed here as well so that we can let you know whether or not some blurriness up to performance complications or so may be “normal” and to be expected or not, again depending on the machine itself.

Hi @maryoloughlin , thanks for getting back to me.
You can also check if there’s any dedicated graphics card built into your laptop as detailed in this brief guide here. If you can find any separate graphics card (via the Display tab) you may also want to refer to our system requirements here to see if it’s officially supported in the first place.
Should you find any supported GPU then you can still send in a dedicated report as detailed here so we’ll receive your machine information as a whole while making sure that your graphics card drivers are fully up to date. (You may have to refer to any system administrator of yours in case you do not have permission to install applications/driver updates on your laptop)
But, in case your laptop may actually not have any graphics card built in alongside then we can really only reccomend upgrading your machine as it would otherwise not be officially supported while explaining either performance problems up to visual issues (or even crashes).
In general you can still also feel free to simply submit that support report right away without checking the above especially if it may seem a bit confusing at first or so, then we can also let you know right away whether your machine is supported or not.

It says my graphics card is intel(R) Iris (R) Plus Graphics, which I assume is not good quality?
I’m afraid while we do support the on-board graphics of more recent AMD/Intel CPU’s the Intel(R) Iris (R) Plus Graphics you are using is/are not supported.
At this point we really can only reccomend upgrading to a new laptop or switching to a desktop machine which meets our requirements. In case you ever require a more specific recommendations based on any specific budget or so please let me know as well.

What laptop would you recommend or how much should i be spending to get the right graphics card?
It will really depend on your preferences as well in regards to which laptop you may want to acquire exactly, but you do have a choice to go with any of the example minimum, recommended or even VR required GPU’s:
Should your budget allow for it I would reccomend also acquiring a laptop that has at least either a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti / AMD RX 6800 or laptop equivalent performance wise built in. In general to keep in mind you will usually pay more for additional performance in a laptop compared to a desktop machine with similar counterparts.
Once more, it will depend on your preferences when it comes to the appearance or brand of a laptop for example, but I’m getting a solid experience using mine with Enscape that has a (mobile) NVIDIA 4070 built in (I prefer NVIDIA due to DLSS and overall better ray-tracing support). Such a mobile machine can be acquired for around 1k$, a bit less or more depending on the model.
Just in case you have any system administrator or similar to refer to then I’d also advice to reach out to them in case they have any recommendations based on our system requirements themselves and especially if there’s a more specific budget whether it be 500$ or 1,5k$ which will of course make a difference.
