brain dead color management ha!

my computers changed and i’m setting up a new one. i am NOT able to calibrate my monitor so its just whatever windows 11 profile is active which is sRGB. i am trying to save images in a bit larger color gamut, a 16-bit TIF file, aRGB then open those images in photoshop and match what’s in the VFB. how close am i to that in the settings below? i think i need to change the display device in the VFB to be aRGB and in the ones below. then when i open .TIF file in photoshop i can assign aRGB to it and get a larger gamut to avoid any banding in skies and such. thanks.

(side note, i might be able to calibrate my monitor? it’s a virtual machine, so maybe if i calibrated it on the laptop that connects to the virtual machine, that would help?) thanks.

Everything seems fine, except that the Rendering RGB primaries in the V-Ray settings must also be ACEScg (usually it should automatically match the one set in 3ds Max, but there’s an existing issue where this doesnt ot always happen; switch to Gamma workflow and back to ACEScg to fix it). The display device setting should be the profile for which your monitor is calibrated. Otherwise, check this article.

thanks! it seems to be working. thanks for the other post too, helpful info!
