at this point i d be willing to be able to control all the camera settings and color corrections in vfb after or during the rendering…i know it s achievable with the present controls in the Vray VFbuffer, but i know it would improve mine, and probably others workflow…

Actually I need the same thing.
I’m sure you could do but you’#d end up with a lot of anti aliasing issues along your edges - you’d be best of using the vfb controls to tweak and then putting these settings into your colour mapping dialog so your anti aliasing can take them into account.
Maybe something like a button in the vfb that could take the settings you’ve applied and convert them into colour mapping settings?
yes…that might help…
nevertheless if it was doable id rather have it…
i see the thecnical problem now with the AA…and probably with the sampling… ![]()
Could you somehow render without exposue settings? Maybe have it be pure white or I dont know…? But then use the same components as a DSLR to expose the image? My Nikon works in real time everything is rendered for it. Would there be a way to seperate the exposure/camera aspect from the scene?
I dont even know if that makes sense.
It does make sense: that’s rendering the image to a FloatingPoint format (exr, hdr, rpf/rla), and doing exposure later. You still runn into the same AA/Sampling issues if you stretch the ranges too much, anyways, as vray renders will sample during rendering with those settings, not with 5 stops less or more as you could do in post.

Unfortunately, this is not easy. V-Ray uses the color mapping parameters as a guide to its adaptive sampling algorithms so the image sampling is specifically optimized for the particular image brightness. Of course, you can adjust the image afterwards, but if you tweak it way too much, you can either get more noise, or higher render times than were, in fact, necessary.
If you think about it, a photo camera works in a similar way - you can’t change the exposure *while* the picture is being taken, but only between different pictures.
Best regards,

yes guys i m quite aware of that…nevertheless those 5 stops r often required to do in post so, being a nob as i am, i d rather have controls wich have the same nomenclature as in the vray camera…
i d even perfer for eg. to chose to have the vignettting or not after the rendering process…
does this makes any sense?
