Hi all
exr.io ignores V-Ray overscan.
Saving as a png etc. keeps the overscan area.
Cheers
Steve
Just tried in Photoshop on a mac and and have the same issue of not showing the overscan.
The overscan does seems to be saved in to the file, as Preview (on a mac) can see the overscanned area.
Photoshop Beta has the same issue, not showing the overscan area.
And After Effects doesn’t recognise the overscan.
in Nuke, exes with overscan shows up as data outside the visible frame, and it needs to be reformatted to see the full image. possibly this needs to happen in other programs as well?
Ah, cool cheers. Is this ‘reformatting’ possible in Photoshop?
What the way to reformat in Nuke, just in case I can get hold of a copy. Cheers
I don’t know photoshop, but a google search brought up this. If you were trying exr.io with no luck, maybe try proEXR?
To load EXR files with overscan in Photoshop, use the free Exr-IO plugin (from Autodesk App Store/Adobe Exchange) or ProEXR, as Photoshop’s default loader struggles; these plugins automatically detect hidden overscan pixels when opening the EXR, presenting them in the plugin’s dialog or as separate layers, allowing you to access the full bleed area for compositing or adjustments within the 32-bit document
Awesome! cheers Buck. Ticking ‘Ignore display window’ worked a treat, cheer.
