Camera problem

Whats going on my cameras ? my vraycam giving different responses.Camera settings cannot be functioned in my viewport ??

Can you share your camera settings ?

When I closed the camera target off problem solved. the problem starts again when I turn it on again.I want to change my camera settings but my viewport doesnt respond.

I guess your camera and the target are too close, please check it out

the problem is not there.I try to create cameras in different scenes.

Im experiencing a similar problem as well, altering the Vertical Tilt in the v-ray camera does not change at all in the viewport but when rendering its fine. Which is a little time consuming with running extra test renders to see if the camera view is correct to what Im trying to achieve.

Hmm, can you clear the geometry and send me your scene only with the camera inside at peter.matanov@chaosgroup.com

Im preparing to send the file shortly but on that I just noticed I had the main camera hidden through the display tab and when I uncheck hide cameras the viewport changes to the proper vertical shift on the camera and when I click the checkbox to hide it, the view changes again looking like there the vertical tilt was reset back to 0.0

Hi Peter, I just sent the file to you.

new scene doin the same thing.

After talking to Peter this morning it looks like it could be a max problem where depending on if the camera is hidden or not will affect how it behaves in the viewport. Tolgahan, do your cameras change in the viewport if you try to hide and or unhide the camera?

tolgahan can you send me a simple scene at peter.matanov@chaosgroup.com ? Maybe your case is different.

I start to prepare.Sorry for my late replies.

I think I’ve got the same problem here. Both in 3.10.01 and 3.10.02, vray cameras with vertical tilt don’t show the effect if cameras are hidden. Only tested in max 2014 so far. But it applies both to old and new empty scenes.

Actually this is already fixed in the night builds. So it will be in the next service pack or even sooner..

Cool beans, YAY!

This showed up several vray versions versions ago but is back as a bug.

If the cameras are hidden or checked in HIDE BY CATEGORY in max and you have vertical tilt greater or less than 0 to correct keystoning then you get the bug and the vieport displays the vray camera with distortion. Uncheck it it straightens it out. Check it and it comes back. Anytime the camera is hidden actually it DOESNT show the vertical tilt. As a matter of fact no setting works for tilt if the camera is hidden. Acts like that feature is deactivated. Renders fine but a pain.

We just upgraded from 3.00 to 3.10.02 and the issue is back in Max 2012 and Max 2014. We’ll make a note of upgrading as soon as the newest version is out!

Soon V-Ray 3.10.03 will be uploaded and there will be a “quick fix” - that means in most of the cases hiding the cameras will not affect the tilt. Note that if you save your scene with hidden cameras and load it - there will be no tilt effect in the viewport and you will have to check-uncheck “Cameras” in Hide By Category. As I said this is not the final fix, but I think it should do the work until a better solution is found.

Hi Peter, Did the new updated version 3.10.3 available now solve this camera issue? Partially? Completely? Thanks

Hi Carlos,

Yes, you can try it but check out the note from my upper post.
