can not write region to file

any idea what this error is?

0: STDOUT:
0: STDOUT: error: [VFBCore::SetRegion] Error writing render region to raw image file.
0: STDOUT: [ExrFile::WTRegion] Region data ((64, 320)-(128, 360)) and tile size ((64, 320)-(128, 384)) do not match
0: STDOUT: Number of raycasts: 158512834

thanks,

So… get this, this is caused by having the test resolution in the maya frame buffer set to 50%.

Basically, an artist (actually two..) left that on when exporting their VRscenes.. and then que’d up at full res.

It will crash when writing to EXR and when writing to VRIMG it will render out only a portion of the frame, at half the resolution you submitted at.

It’s crazy how linked up the GUI is to the exporter.

Is there a way to commandline export to VRSCENES?

Thanks
B

The test resolution issue is fixed for newer builds.

You can export to a .vrscene either through MEL inside Maya, or through the Maya “render” command; if you type “render -r vray -help” you will see the options.
