I love my 10-22 its a blast to shoot with ![]()
Okay - you guys and various reviews convinced me. I just ordered a 10-22 Canon lens for mine (I’m gonna stick my GF with the other one.)
Why does photography have to be so damn expensive…
Yup - If I cut back on my nights out on the piss I reckon I’d cover a few new lenses in half a year but then I realyl should spend the money on sensible things like a fireplace or a sink ![]()
A fireplace is not sensible unless you’re single and planning to have the ladies over on a regular basis…
Sink? Pffft. That’s what a toilet is for.
L2economize!
I agree partly with jujubee here, depending where you are a fireplace is more of a luxury than a necessity, now as far as the sink goes the toilet isn’t very sanitary, just go down to the local home improvement store get yourself a decent sized bucket, knock a hole in the side near the bottom and put a small valve in it. now put that on a stool beside the toilet and to keep things a bit neater put a hose on the end of the valve and run that in to the toilet and you will be good to go ![]()

Dave your quote is fantastic. Just curious folks - I love the 1.8 50mm to bits but in some cases I haven’t gotten anything around the 1/50 sec I’d need for a sharp shot - if I’m getting 1/20th sec at 1.8 then what do you think I’d be getting at 1.4 or 1.2? I like the length of the 50 and if I could avoid flash I would (personally it makes me look like a transvestite)
To Joconnell: Like you I don’t like flash photos (but thinking of getting a softbox). For interior shots and people I’m not afraid of using high ISO levels (800 -1250 on my 30D, I 've even used 1600 and 3200 with success). Then “Neat Image” noise reduction… - but most often a little noise is no problem if the photograpy is correctly exposed. If you still get long exposure times set your camera to multiple shots and fire several - usually one will be sharp.
I also often underexpose up to 2/3 Stops to get the shuttertime I need - then compensate in the Raw-image editing program.
I’ve had decent results photographing f.ex. people at around 1/15s exposure, but timing is of importance as well as a steady hand.
