I’m still in the learning stages and I’ve been trying to figure this issue out for days.
I’m trying to get the identical material, (brick) on the front of the residence that is on the brick wall out front. Every material I apply to the building is way out of scale as you can see. When I add a UVW map and try to scale it, nothing changes. No matter what brick material I use??
I tried grabbing the material from the short wall out front and applying it to the building. I tried copying the UVW map from the wall to the building material. Nothing is working. Also wondering why I am unable to see the material in the camera view?
In the modify panel I select the material and choose box, use real world scale. No change. I use the scale tool on the gizmo after unchecking use real world scale and nothing changes. I tried changing the measurements in the length/width/height in the modify panel. No change.
There could be few reasons why adding/editing UVW map does not seem to have any effect. It could be map channel mismatch, e.g. if UVW map modifier is set to channel 1, but the textures are set to channel 2. It also could be that the material is set-up to use triplanar mapping, in that case model’s UVs are ignored completely and it doesn’t matter what you do with them.
You need to give us more context to identify the issue.
Select the object, apply a ‘UVW Mapping Clear’ modifier, then re apply a ‘UVW Map’ modifier You should then be able to adjust the scaling with UVW mapping modifier to suit. You could also start by resetting the xform of the object before doing any of the above.
if the map is a tri planar map, adjustments to size ignore a UVW Map modifier entirely and adjustments are shown at render time, you adjust the sizing in the triplanar map to suit during the interactive rendering stage.
Thanks for your efforts all. I’ve tried all the suggestions so far and this material absolutely does not change.
Again, I would like to know why the material only shows up in IR and not in the camera view so I can observe scaling, (even though it’s not changing anyway) But it used to be visible in the view. Now it’s just solid grey.
TO add to my original post, when selecting the object, It’s showing I’m selecting the material that was brought in with the Revit Import, (from Revit). I’ve used the eyedropper from the material editor and it still seems like the selection is not of the material I’ve applied??
And, to repeat, the material on the building is the same material applied to the short wall in front and that material looks as I want it to.
Also, as a side issue, I am not getting notified of replies. I came back to this post to see I’ve had 3 replies.

The red square shows that if you use real world scale in the texture, you also need to activate real world units in the uvw modifier. the green square shows that the uvw modifier map channel should match your bitmap map channel. the yellow arrow shows that you need to activate either the shader or the map that you want to see in the viewport. The UVW map mod. also alows you to pick other mapped object to use the same settings.
