cant get DR running...edit: fixed

ok i’m using the latest version 1.46.05 and it still doesn’t work.
i’m using max7

warning: Render host 192.168.0.168 failed

in the network dir of the failed host there is a max.log file and vraydummy60.xml.

in the max.log file there is only this line:
2004/11/13 22:28:46 ERR: An unexpected exception has occurred in the network renderer and it is terminating.

any hints?

Any scripts or plugins missing from the slaves?

i can say we have the same error from time to time and without changing anything, DR works on some day and the next day not.

the max scene file that is in the network dir is 0 bytes when this happens.

it´s frustrating.

ok it works for me now with all render boxes except the one running windows server 2003…
i tried both clean install and cloning the entire 3dsmax7 dir (which always worked for me with backburner).
it just doesn’t work. i can only imagine that there is a compatibility problem with windows server…

in fact i didn’t try the other machines previously because the server is the fastest.
it worked from the beginning with the others, at least with the simple testfile.

there is no problem with missing plugins etc.
i proved this by using backburner and image stripes, which worked.

i downloaded the latest build 1.46.07 and now DR works with all computers in my network :smile:
