This issue happens a lot, starting with maybe Vantage 2.0.
Nothing is imported into max.

Hi Alexander, I just found out what caused this problem. It may be related to the Windows system language.
I use the Chinese version of Windows and the English version of 3DsMAX. There is a 30% chance that no cameras are imported and at the same time this error message will appear. No matter how I restart my PC.
Suddenly I had an idea. I opened the .vantage file with Notepad and saved it as ANSI encoding. It worked! Finally the camera was imported successfully!
I don’t know why this happen. This usually happens when working on the same project for more than a few days. Don’t know at which point, the saved .vantage encoding suddenly changed.
It’s not a big deal once know the solution. Just a tip for friends who use Chinese, Japanese, and Korean Windows.
