Can't type in Cosmos - very annoying

Hi all,

In the last few months we’ve had an issue where we can’t type in Cosmos after we’ve used it.

For example, if we open Cosmos & downloaded/assign a material to an object - this then brings focus back to Max.

When we then click in Cosmos, we can’t type - pressing T for example will put Max in top view.

My colleague just created a texture in Cosmos but had to assign a name to the texture. As he’d clicked in Max, then back in Cosmos he couldn’t type a name.

The only solution was to open notepad, type a name & copy it.

But… pressing Ctrl + paste didn’t work… he had to right click and paste.

Any ideas regarding this as it’s getting on our nerves.

Odd. Can’t reproduce it by your description. Could it be something related to the Language you use on the workstation? I’ve seen non-English US keyboards messing up stuff in 3ds Max.

EDIT: Are you using Corona or V-Ray? I tested with V-Ray. Tested it with Corona too - works as expected.

Hi, if you are using Corona:

The preview build includes a similar fix for when Vantage live link is running, but it could affect Cosmos too.
