Carpaint / VRayMtl White burnout spots with black rings around.

Hi

I get these “bourn out” spots with a black ring around, when using glossy material. Can’t seem to get rid of then, unless i turn down the reflections in the material…
I’m sure the forum has the sollution, but can’t find the right word for it, to pop out on my search results :slight_smile:

The artifacts are called fireflies. Check this thread for some suggestions as to how to clear them.

Just as an FYI, they were termed fireflies because during an animation they dance around as the reflective surfaces move :slight_smile:

That looks like you are using a sharpening filter.
Try rendering again using VRayLanczos instead.
