Hi all
Would be nice to be able to change the color of the fake fog from the VRayAerialPerspective. I have a low sun that makes the sky red, but the VRayAerialPerspective makes my ground on the horizon too white/light so it looks weird

Hm, the aerial perspective was supposed to pick up the right color automatically… can you show me an image? Other than that, it probably makes sense to add a tint color anyways.
Best regards,
Vlado
It automatically picks color from VraySky., Is this possible for the VrayDome lights with HDR as well?
Hm, maybe… will have to think about it.
Best regards,
Vlado
Here’s what I’m getting:
The top row is VRaySky
The bottom row is VRaySky multiplied by HDRI in comptex (just forgot to update the labels of the bottom row to also say HDRI)
From left to right:
1 - defaults
2 - VRayAerialPerspective added with defaults
3 - VRayAerialPerspective and Affect Environment rays ticked
As stated in the docs, VRayAerialPerspective is a nice quick cheat if you don’t want to wait for EnvironmentFog. However, I would like to adjust the cheating. I want to be able to cheat the middle column of images in both cases.
In this case I want to add more red or blue (purply)
In fact you need more adjustments and control when you cheat ![]()
Vlado,
Would be great if it can read from Dome.
You could try changing the ground albedo color - it will influence the sky and aerial perspective close to the horizon.
Best regards,
Vlado
Yeah I changed it from the beginning already. Just forgot to mention it. In the examples I posted above, the ground albedo is set to an orangy “peachy” color.
