Change path on Vray for Blender CE Linux: is it possible?

Hi all,

I’ve an issue. I’d like to change the download path of Cosmos assets to another folder.

I went to Cosmos browser settings, I can see the “Change path” button…I press it but nothing happen…any new window to change path is opened.

Change path on Cosmos with Vray fo Blender Community Edition is something possible or it’s disabled? If it’s not disabled, how should I do it?

I’m on Ubuntu 26.04, with Gnome 50 and Wayland.

Changing the Assets download location is not disabled however I can’t say for sure what went wrong in your case. Is it possible that the directory selection window was opened behind you main window?

There is an alternative method to change the Asset download location.

  1. Create your new directory and copy its path.

  2. Stop the Cosmos service by running sudo systemctl stop cosmos.service

  3. Open Cosmos config that is located in ~/.Chaos/Cosmos/config/config.json

  4. Look for the line that says “working_dir” and paste the new path here. It should look like this "working_dir": "/home/MyDirectory"

  5. Save the changes.

  6. Run sudo systemctl start cosmos.service to start Cosmos and it should be downloading in the new directory from now on.

    Let me know if that worked for you.

I’ve tried to check this but I can confirm that any window is opened.
