I have this new and strange problem with Cosmos:
When I load a scene which has some cosmos assets it says "scene has mislocated cosmos assets. Would you like to recover the asset file references? I said YES but then show up next dialog “Assets download finished with (number) unsuccessful file relocations due missing assets revisions”. Why? Where is a problem?
Is your Chaos Cosmos up to date? It is possible that the asset was discontinued and, hence cannot be re-downloaded. Do you have access to the Asset Download Folder set in your Cosmos settings?
Yes, I have it up to date. And I downloaded everytime without any problem. Yes, I can look in windows to this folder, it is accessible normaly.
Should I delete everything, change folder or something, and download everything again?
Okay, there seems to be a known issue (VMAX-13652; already fixed in nightlies), which makes old (pre-update) asset revisions not downloadable. Basically, if your scene contains an asset revision 1 and you have already downloaded asset revision 2, there wouldn’t be a downgrade. If you delete all your assets, it should download the correct ones.
So should I install nightly or somehow uninstall/delete everything? What is the best process of so?
If you have nightly access, yes, install a recent build and the issue should be resolved.
