I’ve been a continuous Chaos Cloud and V-Ray customer for a while. Wanted to raise a pricing-structure issue and see if others are running into the same thing.
The current Chaos Credits top-up sizes (250 / 1,000 / 3,000 credits) work fine if your usage is frequent and steady, but they leave a gap for a profile like mine: I need large quantities of credits, but on an irregular, unpredictable schedule (bursts tied to project deadlines rather than constant monthly use).
With no intermediate tier available, I’ve ended up having to run multiple parallel subscriptions just to approximate the volume I actually need, at a noticeably higher total cost than a single dedicated tier would have been.
It also feels like a step back from the pre-May 27, 2026 system, which allowed more flexible, one-off credit purchases without forcing you into recurring parallel subscriptions to cover a mid-size, irregular need.
Questions for the community:
- Has anyone else with bursty/irregular usage hit this same gap between tiers?
- Has anyone managed to get a custom package or a consolidated plan out of Chaos support?
- Any workaround you’ve found (e.g. mixing Chaos Cloud with a third-party render farm for the overflow) that’s actually cost-effective?
Happy to compare notes, feels like a structural issue for anyone whose workload isn’t a flat, predictable monthly curve.
