Chicago Loft comes to life

Some time ago, I released an unfurnished architectural scene following some requests by friends. It featured an existing converted loft in Chicago. At the time, I promised to show some images about how this scene could be used to showcase models, test furnishing schemes, or just to have fun.

So here they are. They feature a wild mix of older and more recent furniture pieces, some of them done specifically for this scene, with the only lose link between them being a general mid-century feel (though some of the pieces are actually recent designs).

Hope you like them. You can see the full set of images here.

PS: The image with the Flag Halyard chair was done to test Vray’s new hair shader. I love it!

PS2: One small gripe is that with every new release of Vray, my Workstation seems to struggle ever more to render pics in an acceptable amount of time. Dunno if Vray is getting more complex, if I’m getting senile, or if my machine is getting old.

Fantastic work!!! I bought it in the turbosquid, but the render is very slow!
How do you render it with this quality? How much computers do you render it?

Congratulatios!!!

Thanks Exagero. Yes, this scene renders quite slow, but this was done on one computer (two Xeons Quads @ 2.27 GHz), rendering at twice this resolution. Most images took between 6 and 12 hours to render. As I said, though, this is quite considerably slower (and not as clean) than what I was getting with the old DMC sampler.

Beautiful work. Your standard is already very high, but I still see improvement in each new set of images you show. Love the treatment.

Very, very well done.

its all over the internet :)))
lovely as usuall

i am considering buying the turbosquid model to take a peak in your kitchen :))
BUT
i am getting distracted by the rendertimes (but i wont hold for too long :))

btw
do you remember the issue of long renderimes when trying to render older scenes in newer vray versions?
could that be the case?
Vlado?

breathtaking, bertrand…really impressive set, again.
