Citroen DS5

Hi friends,

Here is my latest work.
Testing with car shaders.

Not bad

Somehow that car paint looks a bit washed out though, rims are too shiny (I think that they are more matte in real life, or half matte/brushed half shiny on this actual model) and headlights seem to be missing some details.

Hi Tomislavn

Yes, I agree with you, actually it’s ready model, I just did shading, lighting and post production. It was a quick test, only 1 day work.

oooh… look at those shadows…

  • road fence is casting shadow over wheels, yet wheels cast another darker shadow as if another emitter is between fence and a wheel / or a sun lamp has an offset from the sun (as observed under the car)
  • sun light is infinite/parallel - so must be shadows, yet shadows are in line with perspective, toward the sun on horizon / idiotic statement; shadows are correct within perspective - remember own mistakes!!!

learned to correct myself

No shit, must be a bug in nature…

it depends on your lense (perspective distorion)

nice one…

Thank you friends for your suggestions, I’ll definitely work on this.

Oh man  had such a nice laugh to make up for this ugly rainy morning!

Damned - i got a bug  Those shadows are in parallel… as stated above, depends on lenses (wide), POV… Visually feels much more distorted as if sun is only as far as ā€œthe end of the earthā€ is and not farther.
Keep me smiling, thanks.

I remember being puzzled by this IRL long time ago. I looked at some trees casting shadows, and my brain couldn’t figure out why the shadows are affected by the perspective.

Same story here, only with crepuscular rays :]
