Cohousing project | ORCA Architects

Hello everyone,

This is my first time posting some work here.

These are images of a co-housing project with a shared garden on a small plot of land in the city center of a belgian town.
The architects needed some images to convince the municipality of their project and because they work with eco-friendly materials (chalk walls and wood) they had some trouble convincing them without visuals
The last image is, just to be clear, an actual photo with the building fit in.

I hope you like them.

Kind Regards

Mattias

Haha, your images are so good, that i only recognised that the last one is real photo, when i read the description. Outstanding job! I don’t do archviz, but still i would love to see at least small making off.

Thanks romullus,

I don`t mind doing a making of, just let me know in which aspects/elements you interested in.

Most of all, i’m curious to know your appraoch to lighting and tonemapping/post-processing, but i’d gladly read about any aspect of your creation process.

Congrats. Super realistic and a natural, peaceful atmosphere.

Great set of renders here!

Please make sure to setup thumbnail image so more people can get here.

all the best

Hi,

I tried to write a bit of my workflow and thoughts down.
Hopefully its interesting…

@twoheads: I noticed that too, but no idea how ppl manage to add that thumbnail

I’ve seen these over on social media, totally digging the style! I’m quite a fan of how you got the colors to be so vibrant yet not come off as fake. The mood and the atmosphere sells the architecture really well too  Really well done images, congratulations!

Oh and thanks for sharing the secret sauce

Thanks for the insights, it was interesting to read. Regarding thumbnail - go and edit the first post of the topic and attach your thumbnail image via forum attachment system (you’ll find it below text edit area) - the forum will automatically pick it up and set as topic’s thumbnail.

I was going to say that last image had the best car material i’ve ever seen, guess I know why now lol. The renders matching the same tone of the photo really sells it.

The results from just the RAW render are really impress, I kinda like the darker shadows from it more but that’s just a personal preference.

Totally realistic! Well done!

Have you used Corona Sun/Sky as Env. and PGsky just for background on the pool view?

Thanks for share

Saw these on ArtStation - deeply photographic images here, great work +1

Thanks for the kind replies everyone.
Thanks corona team for posting it on your social media. I really appreciate it.

@n.merazzi: Just corona sun and sky, no hdri background.

@JoeVallard: I actually like to have darker shadows too, but I have experienced that a lot of architects don`t like shadows :).
