To the extent that you can do that from 3dsmax normally (e.g. with the scanline renderer) - yes.

I would be even more amazing if the combustion workspace generated from max contained all the layers needed to composite a shot, in other words: you would open the combustion workspace and inside u would find all the nested layers: GI, shadows, reflections, and so on.. with its corrects blending modes applied, all to create the final image, very similar (or identical) to the RGB final image straight from render…
It would be cool too if all af this could be embedded in one OpenEXR file containing all the layers, the z buffer, the render id´s (antialiased please :)), etc…to be imported into combustion or photoshop…uhmmm :lol:
