Did anyone manage to use Complex Fresnel in 3dsmax 2018.3, using Corona v1.7.3 ? no matter what I do, I get 3dsmax crashing any time I try to add Complex Fresnel to my material … with latest Complex Fresnel version (1.0.7, 3dsmax 2018 compatible apparently …).

I’m using it with 1.7.2, no problems. This is with max 2016 so not sure which plugin version, will have a look tomorrow.

Are you sure you are using the newest version available? Free 3ds max plugins - Siger
Why have you not upgraded to 2018.4? The snap bug was driving me nuts

I’ve rebooted my workstation, everything seems to be ok now. That’s weird, because yesterday anytime I tried, it was CTD everytime !

Sorry to insist, but it really seems pretty unstable to me. Used it a few times today, now I just wanted to use it again and … bam … crash !
I’ve tried several ways of adding it to a material, there doesn’t seem to have a rule to avoid crashes. Compact Mat Editor or Slate, same unpredictable behavior. Sometimes I can apply Complex Fresnel, and it crashes a few seconds after, sometimes just applying it leads to a crash … really a pity 
Any idea please ?

If it’s reproducible for you, you should submit the minidump here for inspection. It can be used to track which component caused the crash.

I tried many times and with different combinations - can’t reproduce issues. Used Max 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018.
do you have any substance materials in the file? They are supper buggy for me

Thank you for taking the time to test, but … crap, I hate these random / hardly reproductible crashes !! I’ll test again tomorrow at the office, and see if I can provide a mini dump. I’m all the more disappointed that I liked the results I manage to get between the crashes

Just tested again with a fresh scene, adding Complex Fresnel to 2 different materials in a row. The first one, no problem, the second one, short freeze then crash.
Please find attached the dump data. 3dsmax 2018.4, Corona 1.7.3, Windows 7.
I can also make a short video capture if needed.
