Compositing with Vray

Hi,

I often hear of people rendering passes and matts and alpha’s etc and know very little of this way of working. Thus I have been looking for some form of book to help me understand as I work primarily with still images at present and don’t wish to get too bogged with video literature.

Does anyone have this and if so what do you think of it:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-Compositing-Video-Steve-Wright/dp/024080760X/ref=pd\_bowtega\_1/203-9765498-6367961?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1187094281&sr=1-1

If anyone can recommend another source of information I would appreciate it very much.

Thanks

Trev

judging from the cover that book looks pretty basic, but you cant judge a book by its cover

The art and science of digital compositing by ron brinkmann is the bible - he’s the guy that made shake. It’s a mainly theoretical, knowledge and technique book so you can apply things to most software. If you’re using a specific program then you’re going to have to get something for that too. Mark Christensen’s after effects studio techniques is highly recommended - not sure about other apps.
