Hey Everyone, 
Here are some images from a project we just finished. It’s a ‘green’ house in the mountains outside of Vienna. They are all energy efficient, with large south-facing windows, and solar panels on the roofs. Comments and crits welcome!
I like the overall look and feel of the images. Looks very nice. Good job.
Now some crits:
image1: Some of the trees in the back and plants in the forgeground seem too bright.
image2: looks nice and clean. I like it.
image3: there is no way that blue car is making that turn without scratching something! I’m sure the turning radius is too large for that space.
image4: looks nice. Does it come with drop down blinds or does it have that fancy polaroid windows that changes colour with an electric charge?
I agree with DVP3D…specially about the parking…those spots are only for husbands (It’s a joke)
Yeah, we’ve been scratching our heads here trying to figure out how people are supposed to park in those spots. It’s a very tight fit, even with a small car.
Green
Very nice images… How did you do the rock wall? I have a job that was a large area of 10" rocks and I am trying to mentally figure out how I will accomplish it.
Thanks Bobby. The rock walls are called gabion. They are just rocks held in place by metal framing. The rocks are actually a hi-res image of gravel with a custom painted displacement map. The metal wires around it are modeled geometry.

Really cool images, especially the planting.
Don’t know if you’ll recall but we met briefly in October 2006 when I visited your offices while on holiday…I’m Trevor by the way. Must be nice to work on some European projects - if I recall isn’t Stefan from Austria.
Anyway, hope you are well, and again, great work mate.

Hey Trevor, nice to hear from you! That’s correct, we’re starting to branch out and pick up some European clients. Stefan used to work with the architect on this project back when he was in Vienna. We have a diverse enough clientelle to keep work interesting, but it’s very nice to pick up work that’s of a totally different style than what we’re used to.
Bobby, as far as the map, I honestly can’t remember where it came from -- I believe the original rock map is one that we’d had in our map library for ages, and when this project came around we set the intern loose on painting it over for displacement. Originally it was created for a smaller job that didn’t have quite so much gabion, but I think it did the job nicely.

its good to see more ‘green’ projects being done. In australia we have only just signed Kyoto so people havnt really got their head around the whole thing yet…it usually comes down to:
“but its going to cost me more!”…
and then nothing happens.
I guess the point is now that people are beginning to want various ‘green’ features in their new home so it actually has an increasing amount of worth. They could probably sell those for more with the solar panels than without for example (hopefully a fair bit more)
