Conductor Cloud Rendering

looks intersting if you have to render thousands of frames…

Dont forget Zync.
Been using it for a few months now and love it.

Both sound awesome. Zync looks as simple as it gets. I am curious on the price differences.

price depends on the blade… they are close… but hard to say how much you have to pay in the end…
for a 8 core its 0.59 to 0.57 dollar…

here is a good overview how to work with those cloud farms…

I am trying Zync and it seems to be drop dead simple, however, a 1/2 hour project local is taking 5+ hours on their servers.

It was bloom/glare being enabled that locked up the renders on the Zync servers.

Vlado posted this background story on his g+

Zync runs on the Google cloud, while Conductor is on Microsoft Azure, I think.

Bobby, will try to reproduce the issue with bloom/glare. What resolution did you render at?

Best regards,
Vlado

Actually, it wasn’t that. Each time I tried it stuck at around 90%. The guy put in a request for a refund before I test any further. After I get a refund he told me to try bucket rendering; I was using progressive. If bucket works it really is a dream. Other farms were a mess with all these errors, warning, and uncertainty. Zync was literally a one click solution. Hit render and everything is taken care of for what seems like dollars. Had my attempts worked it would have cost under $20 for a 4K still in about an hour, which was mostly upload time. You can submit a job just for upload, so when you are ready to render the job you’ll get your 4K still in minutes. Once bandwidth gets real (I am at 60MBS) then upload time will be faster and we really don’t need the hardware under our desk. I have been trying to do this for years and it just wasn’t there. Zync seems to be there. I haven’t tried Conductor, the video started getting way too complicated and I was having flashbacks to previously complicated farms.
