Configuring 3dsmax 9, Vray and Deadline

This is pretty specific.

I am having trouble configuring 3dsmax 9 with Vray 1.5 and Deadline 2.7. I used a custom .ini to do this for 7 that pointed to a shared directory directory which had all the plugins living in it. I tried the same set up with Max 9 but it isn’t working and I am not sure why.

The old 3dsmax 7 ini had the following references to Vray:

Standard MAX plug-ins
Additional MAX plug-ins
V-Ray additional plug-ins

The new 3dmax 9 ini file ( copied from the local install ) has these references:

V-Ray main plug-ins
V-Ray additional plug-ins

Any ideas ?

As always any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

In max 9 there are several plugin.ini files around - one is in the root folder of 3dsmax, the others in the local user settings, so not sure if this may be an issue.

Interesting

Very interesting - I will hunt around and see if there is anohter .ini I need to tweak. Where do I find the local user settings ? - is it also an .ini file I cannot seem to find it.

I am really trying to avoid installing locally on all the machines.
