Hi!
I’ve been using Corona 10 for rendering for some time, but I noticed that it slowed down very much when rendering and with large scenes these times are even several hours, where after optimization to 3k resolution, the time rarely exceeded 2 hours for me. Now, those times are much longer. Today I did a test of a simple packshot scene on Corona 9 and Corona 10 and I was very surprised because it is slower and twice as many rays on Corona 10. Below I am posting a photo with statistics. Have any of you had similar experiences with Corona 10?
There was a slowdown due to Triplanar, which was fixed in the daily of 11 on Oct 23rd. Have you tried the latest daily to see if this corrects the slowdown you are experiencing, in case that was being caused by Triplanar mapping? (obviously, if your scene has no triplanar at all, then you can already rule that out as the cause and let us know here). https://forum.corona-renderer.com/Chaos Corona 11 for Cinema 4D daily builds - Changelog#msg218049 was the daily that came out in, but best use the most recent daily of course.
Corona 10 has some strange results time-wise. Often it’s extremely fast - and then minutes later, much slower.
I just rendered a glass of coffee (set to complete at a noise limit). It finished in 41 seconds.
I then made a small tweak to the mesh and added a couple of percent to a colour value. Then the scene finished in 4 minutes 15 seconds.
