Hello, it is possible to render animation in vantage,
will it be possible to export vrscene with animated object?
You can’t export the vrscene with an animated object (the file would basically have to store the whole scene for every frame, and thus be rather huge). However, that’s not the way to render animations through Vantage anyway - it’s to use the Live Link, which then sends each frame over, changes only, as Vantage renders each frame. This is what is in Corona 13, so try it for yourself in the Release Candidates
The button still calls it “exporting” the animation to Vantage, but that’s not in the sense of saving a .vrscene file with the animations in it.
PS this should work with any sort of animation in the DCC - keyframed motion, light changes, material changes, particle systems, skeletal deformations, imported alembic animated objects, animation by deformers, etc. etc. ![]()
Thanks for answer,
If you change to vray you can export for example Car animation and merge it in Vantage.
For now the live link is not production ready, isue with reflecion maps stil not repaired
See screenshot from 13 RC1

Its basic functionality tbh
I think vantage in general is a weird software in the industry, most of other programs release a much more complete package to the public, or it would be free or a low payment until its feature complete.
In my opinion vantage is NOT corona ready, but the price is 100%, so its like paying top dollar for a alpha test..
I know I’m gonna raise some eyebrows..
Hi, regarding the live link, is there a way to bind it to a particular instance of Max? Let me explain: I open Max with a scene, activate the live link with vantage, then open a second instance of Max to grab an asset that I need. When I paste it into the instance of Max that started the live link, vantage goes into pause and no longer displays the new object added to the scene. The only way to fix it is to restart the live link, but in doing so, I lose all the modifications made in vantage.
Hi, how exactly do you copypaste the asset from one Max to another?
Merge or using copy paste script, that is a save selected and merge in another max instance, so is the same
the main issue here is merging a .max file breaks the vantage connection. It is already reported and logged internally. (Report ID=CMAX-1728)
When you use copy paste script. That script creates a temp .max file which is merged when you paste it using the script.
Regarding your question about maintaining the connection with 3ds max vantage, it works like that by default. Vantage is by default tied to that 3ds max from where it was initiated even if you have 5 max files opened.
