Our studio has noticed recently that alot of the plants available in chaos cosmos for c4d corona, have missing textures.
What i mean by this is that the Flowering part of the plants are leaves, there doesn’t seem to be any textures for the flowers.
Syringa vulgaris models for example :
Unfortunately I find lots of Chos assets are poorly compiled/converted for Corona. (incredibly high IOR values, Metal on diffuse objects, Inverted normal maps etc.) Presumably it’s done automatically rather than being checked by humans.
A shame, as the asset library of any renderer should contain best case scenario materials as they also work as a training resource (ie. the best way to set up leaves and so forth.)
Hi,
I checked and the texture of flower is already present with the leaves. It is using a different uv space. You can start IR and you can see it render fine with flowers.
Ah perfect, i shall give this a go. Thank you arpit
I take it you’ve had to collapse the model and seperate the flowers to do this? Thanks C
No need for that. Just look at the image map. The issue is with the ‘broken’ (“Corona Bitmap”) preview. “Cinema’s Bitmap” works as expected.
I gather that’s a bug… very old one.
Edit:
I was too quick to assume the ‘solution’.
Display Shading (OGL) still doesn’t respect the UV mapping (neither w Corona or Standard material). So, now I wonder how these assets are/were made, since ‘Substance’ exports for 3DMax and C4D coordinate systems aren’t the same thing…
