Corona distance map don't work with Corona tiles map with center option

Hi everyone.

I recently ran into a problem where the Corona distance map, AO map, or any map with a different mapping ID doesn’t work with Corona tilemap when using the center option.

I want to use it as a mask, but it’s very frustrating not to be able to make it work. It would be the perfect solution for what I need.

Basically, it messes up the mapping and

The following image shows how it works well when using tile mapping Original

But when I change to Center mapping, this happens.

I tried everything.

Does anyone else have the same problem? Is it a Corona render limitation?

I’m using 3dsMax 2024 and the latest version of Corona.

Appreciate any help on this.

Thank you!

As the first thing: please keep in mind that the version of Corona you are using is experimental. It may not work correctly. I am not sure if it’s related to the issue you are reporting, but I would recommend installing the newest available official release of Corona (Corona 15 Hotfix 2) - Download | My Chaos

Both “Original” and “Center” seem to be working fine here. I am attaching my scene in Max 2024 format. Can you please check it and:

  • see if it renders as expected for you
  • check if you can find differences between my setup and yours

HI Maru.

Thank you for your answer.

I’m using Corona 15 Hotfix 2.

I downloaded your scene and realized that the problem happens when you apply mapping to the plane. Without any UV, it works fine.

It’s like it’s shifting the UV to the side. Also realize it changes it’s scale too sometimes.

Here is a link with two very short recordings of my screen.
Sorry I couldn’t attach it here because I’m a new member.

Let me know if it works for you. Cheers

Can you check on this?
I appreciate.

Hi,

Everything is fine, it is just matter of mapping.

The plane is already with Real-world map size, so no need to place a new UVWMap on it.
When you do so, it simple changes the mapping origin to the center of the plane, thus shifting everything.

Hope this helps.
