i have named corona archviz collection license plus 2 render nodes.
my office setup looks as following:
9950X3D - workstation
5950X - node
3970X - node
ryzen mini pc - renderflow server
except the ryzen mini pc corona render and 3ds max is installed on all machines. all machines are windows 11 pro and they can reach other etc. i use this mini pc so that i can turn off my workstation while the rest of the nodes continue to work.
i am a heavy user of pulze renderflow plugin for 3ds max.
most of the time the licensing seems to work although all license servers are set to localhost.
i also saw the used and available nodes in your online license site. but from today on i only see a corona universal license. node licenses are not showing but still work.
the problem occur when the licensing is not working. than renderflow is skipping the job and this can happen with all jobs over night. so nothing happens over night while the computers are running.
rarely i also have problems getting a license for my workstation.
how shall i set it up that everyhing works smoothly and without constant problems?
shall i install and run the chaos license server on that mini pc? its on 24/7. if so, how do i do that and point the nodes and workstation to this server? how does the license server knows which machine is node and which workstationt? can i define that somewhere?
we figured sth out. but still i can “loose” my license on my workstation when rendering on both nodes. to be honest there is sth wrong with this license management.
another total pain in the ass is the fact that u need more or less a constant internet connection!!!
my isp is having some issues and havent had internet for more than a day. every other subscription software like adobe and 3ds max keep on running. they have some kind of buffer time so that i can keep continue working without internet.
or at least fall back to some kind of demo mode with watermark at least. but not beeing able to IR render at all is …
u really have to work on your licensing. it really sucks.
switched to cloud licensing. same problem.
was working the whole day on my workstation and the 2 nodes were rendering.
from one moment to the other i cannot render on the workstation and renderflow keeps showing cloud licensing errors on the nodes to.
WELL DONE. Paying for 3 licenses and not one of it is working currently. how complicated can that be!!
As previously explained, the Chaos/Corona staff on this forum cannot assist you with licensing or payment issues since they have neither knowledge nor access to the tools required for such assistance. Please always submit a ticket at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
already did it the last time. it is frustrating and time consuming. time i dont have right now.
after one hour the licensing went back to normal.
it would help if the license servers arent that strict. allowing u to continue work for at least 1 or 2 hours.
i mean we regularly see the internet brake.
isnt there any offline license available. like hardware dongles?
Same. If my rendernode is running, IF I hadn’t already opened a max file with Corona (workstation) licence running beforehand, I cannot run my Corona (workstation) licence. I would have to pauze / wait for the rendernode until the licence is no longer running, then open max on the workstation, and open “Corona” and the licence then locks. Then re-enable the renders on the rendernode through the monitor.
