Corona Tiles color sequence

Hello everyone,

is there a way to keep a color sequence in the CoronaTileMap?
color 1 - color 2 - color 3- repeat

My setup so far is: CoronaTileMap-CoronaMultiMap with the 3 colors (Randomize by Tile ID)

Thank you,
Tobias

That’s the pattern I need to create.

Hi,

There is no way to control the Tile ID in CoronaTileMap, like you would with e.g. polygon ID, it is just randomized. So the thing you want to do won’t be (easily) possible with CoronaTileMap.
There is a chance this can be done with CoronaPatternMod modifier, but you still need to play quite a bit to get the repeated/tiled pattern.

The short answer is - model the repeating part, array it, cut the unnecessary part.

The actual feature request will be to be able to specify Tile ID with custom pattern, in some way. Feel free to add it to the ideas portal.

Please use the latest Corona 14 to open the attached scene.

Hope this helps.

It’s kinda possible to do even with Corona tiles map, but my setup is janky as hell, hardly practical unless you really really need to do it tiles map, otherwise just use ARAM’s suggested method.

I think i (or someone else) already requested this, but it might not be transferred to the ideas portal.

It sounds easy but even the implementation design is tricky. I came up with some way this can be possibly done.

You can check it out (and, why not, vote) here:

Voted, thanks for making a request.

i remember in itoo-railclone you can order material distribution (like when replacing certain material id) in sequence or random… maybe there is a possibility to add this option to the multi-map .. so the order of colors will be used in sequence or random. but i dont know if the other “options” like mesh/polygon/tilemap will be able to follow that setting.

Just a thought

Thanks everyone for your feedback and ideas!

I’ll go with the array method.
I just thought I maybe missed something
