we recently upgraded to Vray 7 and Maya 2026.1 and I have a couple of issues to address:
- Cosmos is now integrated in Maya’s Windows but is always in the background. If I have Framebuffer, Hypershade or anything else open, it will always open underneith those panels and will never come up, even if I click into the panel. I have to close all other panels or move them aside.
- If I have to clear a scene and there have been imported Cosmos assets but have been deleted, I am not able to get unused nodes deleted. This option does not clear the scene from old Cosmos textures or shaders. Thus, if I export and archive a scene, those assets are archived aswell, even though they are not in the scene anymore.
- mostly with the people assets, a lot of them come with a color attached to their diffuse channel, which completely alters the look of the models. Some look like they don’t have a texture attached at all or are over exposed. Not quite sure, what that is for.
My system is a Mac Pro 2019 fully loaded on Sequola 15.6.1
Just to show you guys what I am talking about with the people models going on: please check the screenshots. Why is this so? What is the purpose of this? Those models come with the color attached to diffuse. In viewport okay but when you render it just looks wrong. Imagine importing a whole bunch of those models. You have to go through all of them and pull that color down. I don’t get it.
Sorry for the late reply on our end.
Thank you for reporting this problem!
Our team managed to catch this problem and logged an issue.
Here is the issue tracker ID: (VMAYA-13645).
Fortunately, we have fixed this problem with our most recent nightly and stable V-Ray 7.0 for Maya builds (72010 and 71003).
Is it possible for you to check with any of the mentioned builds above, if the problem is still reproducable?
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are still able to reproduce the issue and we will have further look into it.
