V-Ray V-Ray for Cinema 4D Issues

Dear Vray,

Absolutely awesome that Cosmos is about for C4D.

Though I don’t get it to work. When I click on download, nothing happens. Am I missing something?

But same here… cosmos browser can’t connect..

Hey everyone,
The cosmos browser comes bundled with the V-Ray for Cinema 4D installer. If you’re using zip installations of V-Ray not the regular ones, then you need to download the cosmos browser separately. Please refer to our documentation page for Chaos Cosmos or the V-Ray zip installations, where you will find information on how to install the Chaos Cosmos browser.

I’ve just uploaded a quick tutorial about Cosmos usage in Cinema4D:

Just downloaded and installed, used the installer. Unfortunately, when I try to download any item, the information appears that there is no access to the download directory.

Have you installed Vray update using the installer?

Yes, I used the installer.

Did you set a download folder.
I had the same, after setting a download folder it worked.

Try a new folder… I had problems with permissions…

Yes probably it’s the permissions, I’ve only installed on MacOS and the system asked access to the folder. It should be the same for Windows, I’ll try that tomorrow on a PC.

Works now, after manually setting the downloads folder.

Hey @MichaelLammens ,

Have you tried uninstalling and installing back the Chaos Cosmos Browser?
Did you have a previous Cosmos installation (i.e. from another host-app)?

Best would be to forward us the cb.log file located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\ChaosCosmos so we can check for any errors printed. You can send it via our contact form, just make sure to mention this thread (or my name) in the form subject. Much appreciated!

Hi Nikoleta,

I had our IT guys have a look at it. They rerouted the link that pops up when logging in. Everything works fine now.

I will send you the CB file.

Cosmos is amazing!
