whenever I render a large scene, more often than not I get the “Could not obtain license” error at the end of the render..
whenever this happens one of three things happen..
1: Max crashes (very common)
2: the material edditor is open and my pc gets tied up loading each material into view…and this takes ages because it cannot find a license…I haver to wait for it to finish or I have to force quit max…last time this happened it took almost 10 mins
3: I always have to restart max…load up the massive scene and start all over again.
once I do restart max, eveything works fine..till I render a few times again
I have tried the dongle on all our PC…i get the same errors again and again. Small scenes are fine, large scenes that use up the bulk of the PC ram crash alot
all my pcs are macpros, 3 gigs each, winxp 32.
This never happend when it was a software license.
you have to go to every slave and run the license…when thew indo pop up, you gotta change “Localhost” by the IP or the Computer name where your license is located (dongle)… and also make sure that you firewall is not blocking the vray license tool.
The problem is when I tax my pcs it losses connection/or is unable to get connection to the license server and then crashes…it has this problem across all pcs…and the problem files that seem to cause the problems are eather large in size (100mb each) or are rendering large images (4k +) or so.
