I have a model that shows a lot of materials that need to be converted to V-ray materials. I select them and right-click and choose “Convert to V-Ray Material” it pauses for a couple seconds and then crashes Sketchup to desktop. If I select only one material, it converts but doing it this way will take forever. Running SU2024.

Thank you for posting.
Do you need to edit all of these host materials? You can try selecting them in batches of 10-20 materials instead of all of them, especially if you have a lot.
Also if you have SketchUp 2025 installed try a newer version, perhaps performance would be better.
If you would like us to test your scene in order to reproduce the crash, archive it using the Pack Project tool and open a ticket (request type: Product usage questions or issues) where you submit your files.
If I select more than a few at a time it crashes. I didn’t need to edit all of them, so I was able to just select them one at a time, but in the future, it would be nice to be able to not have to do that.

I am using Vray 6, and sketchup 2023, and i had that problem a few times, but sketchup 2023 crashes somethimes when purge unused, so i think it was that sketchup version problem, because on my main vray 6 and sketchup 2019 i had never that isuues..
Edit: It crashed when i tried to convert multiple materials at once.. After reopening sketchup, i convert one by one with no problem..
Edit 2: Now i test it, i add a few sketchup 2023 native materials and convert them all at once and it worked, it was the file that crashed before..

Hi, that sketchup file gives the same error.. There is a few materials need to convert, i slelect all of them and try to convert and sketchup crashed..

I managed to reproduce the described crash with V-Ray 6, but I can not reproduce it with the last V-Ray 7.10 and 7.00.03 versions. Is it reproducible for you with V-Ray 7.10?
