These are the typical settings I use but I find that it seems to work only when the sun is at certain angles. Also, the settings can be slow sometimes.
I was wondering If you guys can all give your two cents and offer some quick tips and changes that could speed up the rendering times, better quality, etc.
Most of those settings will not affect render times. The biggest one I see off the bat is the DMC GI - stay the heck away from that. That’ll kill your render times. Use IR Map and Light Cache as your secondary. I use an IR Map at -3 and 1 for finals and I use an LC setting of 900-1200 for finals. Also you want to change your Image Sampler to .007-.005 for finals, but if time is an issue use .01 - you won’t get great AA though. The other setting to be mindful of is your DMC Sampler - I use .007 noise threshhold for finals. I am pretty certain that your secondary engine is the major issue though. Light Cache is much much faster.
