Cryptomatte artifacts with VRscans, Paint and filter colors are not working

First issue,

Steps to reproduce the issue,
-download my shaderball scene here,
https://drive.google.com/file/d/16OKia952LQAgW7ql\_4XsyQpdHy\_2PLcj/view?usp=sharing
And this is the fabric scan I used,
https://download.chaosgroup.com/vrscans/832/fabric\_blue\_6
-Unhide cloth_Piece object, and create a VRscans material to assign to it

-Adjust tiling factor to 5, then do a bucket render.. There is a Cryptomatte render element already setup in the scene, you will see this kind of artifacts on the fabric scan.. This happens with many other scans, not just this one.

Second issue,

Paint color doesn’t work, and filter color always gives black results.. this is the case with all other scans

Nvidia driver 436.15

Hi @Muhammed_Hamed , I’ve just spoke with the developer of the VRScans project, he says that most of the fabrics has some fully transparent areas, in this particular material which is very thick it’s just pixels. The way to fix this is to disable transparency from the Common tab of the vrScans material.

Thanks Georgy, I will give that a shot, and report back here
What about the filter and paint colors?
They work in other DCCs, but not in VFH

> They work in other DCCs, but not in VFH

Other DCC may have different V-Ray Core versions, please, be more specific in versions.

Hi Andrei,

The exact same scan I can change paint/filter color in Vray for Modo 4.12.01
I can test in Maya and Max as well, with latest stable nightlies, will report here tonight

Maya 2019.1
vray_adv_41201_maya2019_x64

Paint and filter colors work nicely

Modo 13.1 And vray_adv_41202_modo_x64_29196_install

This also works in Max 2020 and Vray 4.2

Best,
Muhammed

Sorry, I missed that, will check and write back

Colors should work in the next nightly.

Awesome!
Thanks @bdancer @chakarov

Follow up, Both issues are solved using latest nightly
Thanks guys for your help!

Best,
Muhammed
