Well, seeing how this bike was sort of a learning experience in 3D chopper building, I’m calling this finished as is, but I figured I could still share the rendering with you all.
the second image is much better…esp for all that chrome, but i have one question…why in a shadow?
show that bad boy off…it would be cool if the bike was framed by tree shadows..but not covered in them…plus you loose details on that intricate model by hiding it like that.
asango: very good crit… I definitely see that now… I guess I was more wrapped up in the cool shadows I got from the trees than the fact it’s covering up the bike a lot.
I’ll see what I can do about that
Also, what do you guys think about adding some depth of field to this?
DOF would look good…but you have to be carefull…too much and it tends to decrease the scale of the object…then you would have a hot wheel and not a ear destroying chopper!
I have to say that I like the first image better mainly because of the minimalist look. After all, the focus of the rendering should be your incredible chopper model, not the hedges, grass, sidewalk, shadows, etc. And I’d be careful with DOF as it tends to turn scenes into miniatures if not done just right.
