Everything was going fine and now I am getting black buckets. They show up only with GPU mode, even with DR disabled.
It’s showing up in the reflection pass
Are you using the bucket mode for rendering, or progressive? Can you get me a scene for this as well to vlado@chaosgroup.com ?
Best regards,
Vlado
It only happens in bucket mode. I turned of my VRay Sun/Sky and it stopped.
Ok; I think we may have fixed this recently, having an example scene to verify will be extremely helpful anyways.
Best regards,
Vlado
I will send that over to you, thanks!

Any progress on hunting down the culprit?
I know it’s not a solution, but does it occur with LC disabled and BF/BF?
I’m having the same problem with an interior scene. I have GI, TotalLighting, reflection, refraction, specular, etc RE and the problem seems to appear only in the GI pass.
I’m rendering from an Intel machine using a Threadripper one in DR mode, maybe it has something to do with that…
If change to BF/BF as danio mention, the problem disappears.
BTW in my case the problem occurs with CPU rendering in bucket mode
I’ll try BF/BF and report back.
I’ve installed last nightly version and my problem seems to be fixed.
Thanks!
I am still having the issue on this one. I know Vlado was looking into it, but I haven’t heard back. I sent the file a month ago.
Nothing I do will get rid of the errors on the image. I sent the files over a month ago, but I have not heard back. I am going to try non-GPU, but my render times explode; that might be what it takes to get this one out the door.
How do I get nightly? I can’t render these images out, so I need a solution.
@glorybound you can request it at support.
But I have to say I’m on the latest nightly and have s similar problem.
I thought it was the cpu in hybrid mode but bucket like differences are still there even when rendering without cpu .
Testing with only 2080 tis and leaving the 1080 ti out .
I’ll send a scene as soon as possible.
I noticed that this doesn’t appear in IPR mode and but with progressive and light cache .I think I succeeded in getting rid of the bucket like differences by switching to Brute force . But rendering times were obviously horrible…
I have tried everything and absolutely nothing is working. I sent the model a month ago, but I have not heard back, except the problem has possibly been fixed. I am tempted to give Corona a try just to get this job done.
For me switching to Brute force solved it.
i find it strange that lc produces bucket like artifacts.
So you even have it with brute force on?
Btw I also noticed that my windows have no reflection…not even in the reflection pass. Why is that? And how to solve it?
Yeah, I brought up the reflection issue when NEXT first came out, but I don’t think it was acknowledged on the forum. I end up uses a RAW Reflection pass. BF, I think I tried, but when I saw a 7hour render time, I just canceled it.
